My ULTIMATE 10 TRANS-INDONESIA!

Ola guys! Finally i got the time to update my blog wee-hee:)

After releasing some of those burdens, I feels so relieved. Its like, whoaaa, i almost finish it all and the looooooooooooooooooong holiday's coming! Its gonna be real long, i guess starting from hm lets say, mid-April, until... mid August? 4MONTHS!!!

Its gonna be real boring if you dont have any planduring those months. Well lucky me i do have some! Well ofcourse, first, the one and only thing i love hehe: travelling!

mommy asked me if i wanna join her to go backpacking across south east asia (if possible), just the two of us, its gonna be a mom&daughter amazing race asia sorta. hahaha. Starting from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, and so on! Whoaaa its gonna be real cool, visiting Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Hanong Bay, or going to redlight disctrict for transvertites in Thailand!

Well that is cool. But you know what? I'd rather travel around Indonesia cause our country, has the most breathtaking views compared to other SE Asian countries! There are so many spots to go, pristine beaches, challenging mountains, incredible underwater life.... There's much much more to see in Indonesia. Ive written my destination list on my note book! And hereby, i present you........... My Ultime 10 Trans-Indonesia!

1. Mount Rinjani - Lombok

THIS IS NUMBER ONE ON MY LIST! The second highest mountain in indonesia. See? How breathtaking it is! That is Segara Anak Lake, on the crater of Mount Rinjani, and that little volcanoe ist Mount Baru. So theres a new volcano inside a BIG volcano crater. Soo cool huh? Well i could have gone tracking there last year, i was in Lombok and my mom wanted to go to Senaru, it is the starting point to go hiking in Rinjani. But my dumb sister didnt want to because she didnt bring enough apparel to go hiking! GRRR. then I HAVE TO GO THERE THIS YEAR! *fired up*

2. Lake Kelimutu - Nusa Tenggara

These are lakes on craters, it has 3 lakes and each with different colours. The colours keep on changin, and no one knows exactly why. Currently, the colours are turqouise blue, black, and red. Ive been dying to go there!!! But the tourist accomodation there is still kinda rare, some tourists even have to sleep in their cars. But i guess its really worth it, you know, to hike the endless stairs for 30minutes, and see the sunrise on the horizon, and those lakes will reflect the sunlight, how beautiful!

3. Komodo Island - Nusa Tenggara

No, this isnt New Zealand on the Lord of The Ring movie scene, no this is not Alpen, this is the Komodo Island in Nusa Tenggara! Where lay the one and only, the last descendad, the last remaining of giant lizard, KOMODO! Yep, it is the natural habitat of the famous Komodo Dragon. Hm this island somehow looks like a Jurrasic Park eh? :p

4. Raja Ampat - Papua

I guess even most of you guys, Indonesian, havent even heard this place, but you know what? This is WORLD'S BEST DIVING SITE! Its located in Papua New Guinea/Irian Jaya (i dont know how they name it now -_-). Raja Ampat is like a mini-archipelago, the islands look like mounds! Some species are only to be found here, such as the walking-shark and so many more. The beaches, and the underwaterlife are still very very very pristine. The price though, is kinda choking. To get to Papua, you have to go by plane, and the ticket is more expensive than to Aussie. I dunno how much exactly. When you have arrived there, you have to rent a boat (with bed, kitchen etc) which costs 500$ per-day!!! Or you can choose to stay in a bungallow there, i forgot the name, but it cost 21 millions per-week. He-he-he-he. Let's just eat sago there -_- But you see the photo yourself, i think it worth the price.

5. Ujung Kulon National Park - Banten

Ujung Kulooon, very famous for its one horned rhinoceros!!! (read: badak bercula satu -__-), is bestowed as World Heritage site. From savana, rainforest, river, to the pristine white sandy beach, and the famous Krakatau, Ujung Kulon has it all. It offers the scenery from inland, seashore, til mountain top. Well i can say that it is the lost eden on earth, very contemplating. Dying dying dying to go there.

6. Krakatoa & Rakata - Banten

Krakatau, located on the eastern tip of Banten, is very well known for the devastation it had made two centuries ago, when it erupted in 1800ish. The smoke covered the atmosphere, and darkened most of south pacific region. The volcanic dust flew til Europe! The quake even reached America continent. The eruption was soo big, it approximately took more than 100,000 lives at that time. Now its son, Rakata, is emerging. Still not as big as his mom, Krakatau, but can be very dangerous. But why is this on my destination list?? Well i guess seeing that mass-killer from a small boat in the middle of the sea, is kinda sensation for myself hihi. Youknow, that adrenalin rush im seeking for!

7. Belitung

The specialty of Belitung is ofcourse, the beach! See? Where can you find another beach with giant granites where you can play hide and seek? Its only in Belitung ofcourse! This island was also featured in scene of Laskar Pelangi movie. The underwater life maybe isnt that special, but still the beaches are totally worth to visit!

8. Borneo Rainforest -Kalimantan

This is Indonesia's very own Amazon! Its humongous dense rainforest, is home to various kinds of animals. Such as Orangutan, Lemur, Dutch Monkey, Sloth, the very rare Clouded Leopard, Sun Bear, flying snakes, misterious birds, reptiles, and so much more! Even somesays that there's a giant snake, bigger than the Anaconda, lying beneath the river. creepy... yet enteressante!

9. Lake Toba - North Sumatra

Presenting, Indonesia... or even South East Asia's BIGGEST LAKE! Im sure you guys have already known this heheh, so yeah this is the famous Lake Toba in North Sumatara. It's very famous of its legend of Samosir Island, the big island in the middle of the lake. I think itll be very tranquil there, just the sound of birds chirping, crickets, the sweet smell of wet green forest:) the perfect place for you to hide away from the hullabaloo of city dwellers!

10. Green Canyon (NOT GRAND CANYON!!) - West Java

This tranquil getaway is only 8hours far from jakarta by car, it's located somewhere near Pangandaran, on the southern shore of Java. This is a must visit for those who loves greenery&tranquility. It's actually a river between rocky mossy cliff, located in a green valley, furnished with beautiful stalactites and stalagnites. You can swim in the river (wearing lifejacket ofcourse), or even jump from the top of the cliff! So exciting!

So those are my top 10 destinations list in Indonesia! I bet there are a whole lot more but i just havent known em yet hehe. Like some days ago i just read an article on National Geography about some adventurers discovered a huge cave inside the dense forest in Papua Nugini, they had to climb a tall waterfall to get there, and walked along a river in the dark cave, when they finally arrived at the end of the river, they found a huge cave, 130 metres wide, 50 metres high, with a lagoon of turqouis water inside it. Can you imagine that? It's totally like JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH!!! So cool you have to see the pics!!!

The Mageni Waterfall, 'The Gate to The Centre of The Earth"

After walking for miles and miles against the river current, they finally found this:

Im really speechless seeing this you know. Its just so...... *speechless*

So guys, there are still gazillions of places waiting to be discoverd by us, or is it better to leave it untouchable? I guess so, cause more people means more destruction :p let's just let it be pristine, untouchable, and virgin!

But those 10 places? I guess no, those are paradise on earth! Why would i waste them? Hehe ok then guys, lets save money and pack your backpack!

stay cool,
Tami.
